About
A pioneer in the field of Medical Legal Consulting
RN for more than thirty-five years
Legal Nurse Consultant for over thirty years
After graduating from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing the majority of my clinical nursing practice encompassed medical surgery, intensive care and Labor and Delivery. In 1986 I began a Medical Legal Consultant career at a large medical malpractice firm in Manhattan. Legal Nurse Consulting was a new concept at that time allowing for the opportunity to learn, create and effect the legal nurse consultant role and responsibilities in the firm. After twenty years in New York I acquired the position of claims consultant at Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences Department of Risk Management & Insurance where I worked in collaboration with the attorneys from initial summons to the final outcome, be it mediation, settlement or trial. My responsibilities also included attending Root Cause Analysis/Sentinel Event/Intradepartmental meetings; full investigation of initial Notice of Claim or summons with review of medical records and interviews of pertinent parties; producing a claims report and presenting cases and recommended strategies to Claims Committees and Attorney General.
Having many years of experience as a Legal Nurse Consultant I have worked on thousands of cases performing many functions involving all areas of medicine. Being extremely efficient at deciphering medical records I can prepare concise and comprehensive medical chronologies and case reports in an expeditious manner, even with the most complicated cases. I am extremely perceptive when it comes to analyzing the medical facts and gaining insight into the details and have a keen ability to identify the salient issues, weaknesses and strengths of a matter, as well as discover the finer nuances.
Now having my own practice, I aim to provide professional high-quality service to assist in interpreting all medical information for the non-professional and professional to simplify your case preparations.
